This two-story, 15,000 sf building with administrative offices and multipurpose areas features an innovative lateral-force-resisting system that reconciles the aesthetic requirements of an exposed structure with special concentrically braced frame design and detailing procedures for ductile seismic response. The project included a seismic upgrade of the adjacent historic three-story, 7,500 gsf City Hall utilizing center coring to strengthen the unreinforced masonry walls.
