SEISMIC REHABILITATION
Seismic Assessment, Retrofit, and Rehabilitation
Applied Materials - Kifer Road Campus
Santa Clara, California
Seismic assessment and strengthening of four
two-story concrete tilt-up buildings totaling 330,000 gsf, including
the conversion of Building 29 to a corporate education & training
center. The seismic evaluation and retrofit was conducted in a phased
approach to maximize use of available funds. Seismic deficiencies
were identified, along with conceptual strengthening and associated
construction costs. The retrofit schemes consisted of new braced
steel frames in combination with collector strengthening and wall
panel anchorage. The retrofits were constructed without significant
disruption to the tenants.
$18M construction cost

DASSE was retained to evaluate the seismic
hazard exposure faced by the leased and owned embassy properties
in twelve countries. DASSE performed detailed assessments including
analytical seismic response determination for approximately 14 structures
and performed walk-through seismic assessments of a variety of buildings,
including an eleven-story office building.

Seismic Evaluation/Retrofit
Sacramento, California
DASSE was retained to perform seismic evaluations
and develop conceptual retrofit schemes for buildings on twelve
sites in California. Analyses were performed to evaluate potential
seismic damage risk to occupant life safety and level of disruption.
"Risk Level" ratings were assigned following the guidelines
of the DGS Risk Acceptability Standards. Conceptual retrofit schemes
and cost estimates were developed for budget planning.
